Shell. Simple, iconic. Allusive. Two color print on a premium quality, ringspun 100% cotton, black shirt. Printed with water-based inks for a soft feel.
The origin of this image is the 1930's version of the Shell Oil logo. My artistic intent very specific here. I've long been an advocate of action to address the challenge of global climate change. Primary to that effort is the necessary elimination of fossil fuel use by ~2050-60. The graphical allegory becomes my use of negative space to convey the removal of the use of their products as a form of energy. In this I believe it becomes an artistically transformative image and as well as a representation of a broader social aspiration.
