Zhu Bajie is one of the characters from the Monkey King series in the 16th century Chinese story, Journey to the West. He is an anthropomorphized pig with special powers.
We came upon these images as a series of traditional Chinese paper cut designs picked up in an estate sale. We did some research and found they're public domain images that originate from a version of the book printed in the 1960's.
