This is a copy of a traditional Chinese paper cut design. The scene is from the story of the Monkey King, Sun Wukong (孫悟空/孙悟空), who is a monkey-god with many fantastical skills who often becomes bored and specializes in all forms of mischief.
We came upon these images as a series of traditional Chinese paper cut designs picked up in an estate sale. We did some research and found they're public domain images that originate from a version of the book printed in the 1960's.
